Yesterday, the Student Union theatre hosted MSA's first lecture of a series of lectures by academic and professional speakers. The lecture, by Prof. Jane Smith from Hartford Seminary, promoted tolerance of theological difference and pointed out the great potential Christian-Islamic relations have.
Today, the Library's main entrance will host a Super Da'wah Table, where UConn students, faculty and staff are offered FREE drinks if they take a short survey that clarifies the common misconceptions about Isalm. In addition to brochures, booklets and posters that are available at the da'wah table, you can chat with your fellow Muslim students and get information about Islam from a source other than the often manipulated media.
Islam Awareness Week is an annual week-long program organized by the Muslim Student Association to promote understanding of Islam and good-will between Muslims and the community they are part of.
