Allahu akbar, La ilaha illAllah, Wa lillahil hamd during these special days. (Hadeeth Ahmad).
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Parents/Teachers, here is a guide to the virtues of the 10 days of Dhul Hijjah. Use it for discussion purposes.
"Special Offer! Limited Time Only!"
When you hear these words what comes to mind? What do you think of as special offer? Maybe 2 chocolate bars for the price of one?
Check this out...
You know how you're supposed to listen to your parents and teachers, finish your lunch, pray without stepping on your neighbour's toes? Well, all that good stuff you do is about to get even better! Bonus season is coming up.
You get bonus reward on 10 special days.
Guess which ones.
They are not in Ramadan..
You know that the last 10 nights of Ramadan are the best nights to do good deeds, like Tarawih and reading Qur'an. But did you know that Dhul Hijjah contains the 10 best days as well?
The Prophet (s.a.w) said:
"No good deeds done on other days are better than those done on these 10 days (of Dhul Hijjah)"
Some people asked," Not even jihad?"
He (s.a.w) replied,
" Not even jihad, unless a man puts his life and property in danger and does not return with either" (i.e. is shaheed)
(Bukhari)
So don't miss out on this special offer of extra special deeds, you only have till Dhul Hijjah 10th.
Are you ready for Dhul Hijjah's bonus season?
- Make sure you know when are the 1st ten days of Dhul Hijjah.
- Do it for Allah: So listen to your parents to get your bonus from Allah . pray to please Him, not to show off to friends...
- Do dhikr: this one is easy! The Prophet (s.a.w) told us to say
Allahu akbar, La ilaha illAllah, Wa lillahil hamd during these special days. (Hadeeth Ahmad).
Imam Bukhari told us that Mina's masjids and market places would be shaken with people saying " Allahu Akbar".
- Fast: The Prophet (s.a.w) always fasted the 9th day (Hadeeth Abu Dawud). Fasting on the 9th day called "Arafah" gives you forgiveness for two years (Hadeeth Muslim)...
- Extra du'a: What would you ask for?
- Charity: What are you willing to give away?
- Sacrifice: What are you willing to give up?
Remember the story of Prophet Ibraheem and his son. Are you willing to give up something, a bad habit, a favourite thing?
- Enjoy Eid! Yes, Eid is one of those 10 days. "You mean you get reward for having fun?" Have good, clean fun; listen to your grown ups; be nice to the little ones and remember the One who gave you Eid.
- There, you've made it through Bonus Season. Keep it up Ma sha Allah!
